The benefits of regular manicures and pedicure

Getting a regular manicure and pedicure has obvious benefits to the look and feel of your hands and feet and no one could ever replace that time that you give yourself. However, the benefits of getting regular manicures and pedicure is more than superficial.

Blood Flow:
First of all, when you you get a really good manicure and pedicure, you are also receiving a hand and foot massage with helps increase blood flow to areas that don't always have the best circulation, particularly if you are a woman. Women carry a lot of their blood around their abdomen and not as much in their hands and feet as their male counterparts.

Professional Quality:
It is very easy to mess up and cut your nails too short, or your cuticles too deep. This type of thing can lead to ingrown nails, hangnails, and infection. When you go to a profession you do not face this risk.

Monitor Fungal Infections:
Fungal infections in the feet are more common than we would like to admit. Our feet don't see sunlight that often and our shoes makes the perfect atmosphere for fungus to grow. Treatment can cure an type of infection that might be starting and a professional nail technician can guide you towards the best types of treatment for your feet.

Skincare:
Our hands and feet are not exfoliated nearly enough. This leads to a grime build up on our hands and callouses on our feet. Having them exfoliated and moisturized regularly results in softer feet and younger looking hands.

Dreadlocks

Dreadlocks, also called locks, dreads, or Jata, are matted hair formed into ropes or coils. Typically, dreadlocks are intentionally formed using a lot of backcombing and a sort of "fire-starter" hand motion, but, depending on the hair texture, dreads can be formed using the neglect method as well. Dreadlocks, when forming must be washed up to twice a week, a common misconception of dreadlocks is that dreadlock wearer doesn't wash their hair, but this is not the case.

Dreadlocks are most commonly associated with the Rastafari movement, but dreadlocks have been worn by many cultures going back to ancient times. The first reported dreadlocks were said to be in North American and Ancient Egypt used in wigs.

Blog for Bobs

So incredibly classic in their nature that they deserve their very own blog.
Starting to make an appearance around 1910, bobs became the most popular hairstyle for women in the 1920s. Adopted by women who were rejecting old traditions and moving forward into modernity, they were making a statement as being "liberated".

A short story called "Bernice Bobs her Hair," written by F. Scott Fitsgerald in 1920 is about a girl named Bernice who is socially inept and goes to stay with her cousin, Marjorie, who views Bernice as a burden on her social life. None of the boys want to dance with Bernice, either.
Bernice hears Majorie complain to Marjorie's mother that Bernice is socially hopeless. Bernice announces that she's going to leave and Marjorie reacts unfazed. Bernice then relents to Majorie turning her into a society girl. Marjorie teaches Bernice how to hold conversations, flirt with every boy including unattractive ones to make herself seem more desirable, and how to dance. Bernice gets really good at being a society girl. Her best line is threatening to bob her hair and telling the boys they can watch. She gets so good, in fact, that she peaks the interest of one of Marjorie's beaus, Warren. Out of jealousy, Marjorie convinces Bernice to bob her hair. The bob looks flat and strange on Bernice and all the boys quickly lose interest.
Marjorie's mother says that Bernice's haircut will likely cause a scandal at the upcoming party that is in Marjorie's honor as the haircut was seen as a statement for "liberated" women. Bernice decides to go that night on a train leaving at 1 a.m. Before she leaves, she sneaks into her cousins room and cuts of her braids. She throws them on Warren's front porch on her way to the train.

Famous women who sported this cut included:

Clara Bow

Joan Crawford

Lady Diana Cooper

There are five different kinds of bobs:

Chinese bob: Cut at the neckline, bobbed up around the edge.

A-line bob: A typical bob cut, with slightly longer hair in front, cut in an asymmetrical style.

Shingle bob: An old-fashioned, dome-shaped bob with the back razor-cut very short into a V shape.

Buzz cut bob: Where it is shoulder-length in the front and close-cropped at the back.

Shaggy bob: A messy bob layered with a razor.
